Abstract : Various load frequency and tie-line bias control schemes are analyzed with respect to random load changes characterized by a stationary time series on simple power systems. System frequency and time, scheduled tie-line flow, and energy exchange deviations are considered where applicable in studying isolated and two interconnected systems. The systems are treated mathematically by using power density spectra and the mean square value of system variables serves as the index of performance for various control schemes. By considering wideband and band-limited systems, a range of operation for the systems has been obtained. (Author)
