Abstract : Measurements of the material damping, loss tangent, of glass fiber-reinforced epoxy are reported and compared with the literature where a comparison is possible. The data was taken from the decay of longitudinal resonance oscillations of small amplitude. Measurements were taken at frequencies up to 150 KMz. The maximum damping is found at around 10 KHz.
