Abstract : Necessary and sufficient conditions are found for normal solvability of Dirichlet and Poincare boundary-value problems for a system with an arbitrary finite number of equations, and also formulas for the index of the above-mentioned boundary-value problems. The conditions and formulas can be very easily expressed in terms of the coefficients of the system and of the boundary conditions. The method is based on the tools of the theory of generalized analytic functions developed by I. N. Vekua. (Author)
