Abstract : An experiment is described in which the precision of coincidence-setting is determined for various black circular, split, and cross-type floating marks. The targets were viewed binocularly at 6 meters, without stereoscopic fusion. For circular marks, the standard deviation of coincidence setting was virtually independent of mark diameter for diameters 1-18 minutes of arc. The circular marks yielded standard deviations of from 10-20 seconds of arc, and the cross and split-mark 5-8 seconds. (Author)
