Abstract : Measurements were made of the energy per unit area spectrum level of charges exploded underwater in the depth range from near the surface to about 2000 ft. Two charge types were used--a 1-lb Pentolite charge and a Seismocap (Canadian Industries Ltd., TNT equivalent: 0.00146 lb). The frequency range covered was 0.02-10.24 kHz for the 1-lb charges and 0.08-10.24 kHz for the Seismocaps. The spectrum-level values obtained are compared with Christian's 'consistent family' of energy-spectrum curves for the various explosion depths. (Author)
