Abstract : The current requirements for predicting ground shock effects in the relatively high pressure regions of nuclear explosions have necessitated the development of suitable mathematical models for the geological materials which make up the media. The use of these more complicated models in the study of ground shock effects have necessitated the development of a group of analytical and semi-analytical check solutions for the various materials of interest. This paper presents a summary of a group of such solutions, together with a bibliography. The solutions, while of interest in themselves, have been extensively used as check solutions for the various large computer codes which have been developed for the study of ground shock effects from nuclear and high explosive sources.
