Abstract : The effect of the thermodynamic extensive parameters such as magnetic field H, electrical fields E and uniaxial continuous or laternative pressures P Sub c and P Sub a has been investigated on the isothermal rate of growth (+R) and dissolution (-R) of some water soluble crystals in their water solution. The crystals investigated are antiferromagnetic I Cu(CH3COO2).H2O paramagnetic II CuSO4.5H2O and ferroelectric III Rochelle salt. The effect of H up to 150 KOe has been studied on I and II but is insignificant. The effects of E, P Sub c and P Sub a on (+R) and (-R) of III are quite small, i.e. about 10% for E and P Sub c and 50% for P Sub a. In the case of E it is concluded that the magnitude and the sign of the effect, i.e. increase in (-R) and decrease in (+R) can be calculated thermodynamically by using an analogue equation of the Clausius-Clapeyron relation which includes the electrical polarization and mechanical elastic strain terms to the free energy equation.
