Abstract : The matrix equation F upsilon R = E represents a transformation on a single set of variables of the function F into new variables in the function E. Extending this, the matrix equations P upsilon F upsilon R = E can be used for a double transformation, which carries two disjoined sets of variables in the function F into corresponding disjoined sets of variables in the function E. A method is developed for simultaneous solving for matrices (i.e. transformation) P and R, both unknown when the functions F and E are known. Examples of the application of the technique to circuit theory are given. (Author)
