Abstract : The article deals with the experimental detection of the dependence of the plasticity of Al on the degree of preliminary deformation. Tests were conducted with cold-rolled specimens deformed by 0-80 percent; plasticity was determined in the 20-600 degrees centigrade range. The experimental data confirm that the superplastic effect due to the stabilization process, observed in metastable eutectics and eutectoid alloys, is reflected by an analogous phenomenon in pure metals.
