Abstract : The paper reports AFCRL findings concerning precise positioning of aircraft with GEOCEIVERS. The conditions and assumptions made in the simulations are presented along with the associated rigorous error propagation. The assumptions were influenced by AFCRL's previous studies and experience with prototype GEOCEIVER data reductions and by the Navy's description of the production GEOCEIVERS. The error propagation indicates that when a well-designed highly redundant, tracking configuration of GEOCEIVERS of known location is exercised over a wide sweep of geometry, accuracies on the order of 0.1 to 0.3 m (1 sigma) can be expected for the recovery of that portion of the trajectory intercepted by the boundary of the tracking configuration.
