Abstract : A study was made of the effect of the chemical composition and structure on the antifriction properties of binary alloys Al-Cu and Al-Mg for conditions of slip of the spherical indentor along a flat sample without lubrication, or for an insert-roller system. Alloying elements most effectively influence the wear resistance of alloys within the range of limited solid solutions when approaching the point of critical solubility. (Author)
