Abstract : Calculation of the influence of biaxial tension on the fatigue strength of steels on the basis of the basic fatigue strength relations for a complex stress-strain state is given. A comparison of the experimental results with experimental fatigue data obtained for tubular samples of 1Kh18N9T and 30KhGSA steel shows that the Birger-Balashov condition provides the best correlation. This condition is also recommended for calculating structures operating under pressure in the presence of vibrations. (Author)
