Abstract : Electrolytic boronizing to strengthen the surface of machine parts and increase their wear resistance was successfully applied to structural parts of beneficiation plant equipment. Laboratory tests were conducted to determine the effect of the boronizing treatment on 4 cast iron grades. The results are discussed in detail. It is recommended that boronizing be used to strengthen centrifugal screens. It permits substituting low-C steel wires for the more expensive stainless steel grades. Electrolytic boronizing also increased the wear resistance of chain elements and hydrocyclone and dust separator parts.
