Abstract : Identification of targets whose parametric classifications consist of tightly interleaved contours requires a finely quantized classification space. The minimum usable grid size is determined by describing each contour as an infinitude of harmically related ellipses and by considering the resultant ellipses, equipment bandwidth, and signal noise.
