Abstract : Observations were made with a sea proton magnetometer along meridional profiles; the average distance between profiles was about 28 km. On some profiles special echo sounders were employed for highly precise depth measurements. Horizontal control of the profiles was with a RSVT-1 radiogeodetic system, as well as by navigation and astronomical methods. Survey data were used in compiling a map of given magnetic field anomalies for a large part of the Black Sea. Five large zones were defined which differ in amplitude, periods and strike of anomalies. Quantitative computations of the parameters of magnetically disturbing bodies were made for determining the geologic nature of 14 anomalies. Comparison of these data with deep seismic sounding data indicates an adequate reliability of determining depth to the upper surface of disturbing bodies. (Author)
