Abstract : This report presents a methodology and planning factors for estimating manufacturing capacity for airplane and helicopter facilities. In the event additional capacity is required, the methodology can be applied to determine the required manufacturing area. It was not possible to include facilities for aircraft engines and all types of missiles, because of insufficient data available from the one missile and two aircraft engine manufacturers under BuAer cognizance. The methodology, however, is applicable to the Regulus and Matador missiles and to other missiles having airframes like those of airplanes. (Author)
