Abstract : The effect of molybdenum disulfide on lubricating oils was examined in a friction device consisting of a roll pressed to a bushing. Graphs show the effect of 0 to 5 percent molybdenum disulfide at pressures less than or equal to 100 kgf/ sq cm on the friction coefficient. The friction coefficient of the oil doped with molybdenum disulfide is 20 to 50 percent smaller than that of the clear oil.
