Abstract : A method is presented to account for the human performance variation in maintainability demonstrations. The method is based on learning curve theory and is disigned so that in its repeated application it will improve and result in more accurate data. The need to establish a data bank is emphasized. As a data bank develops, the proposed method will become more discriminating and exact. Also the data bank will provide an immediate source for any new methods or variations that may be developed. Encouragement is given toward further research into application of theories and processes of disciplines other than maintainability. It is stressed that further research is a necessity if the method presented is to be refined in order to validate prediction techniques which will inevitably become more precise and maintainability requirements that will become more exact and comprehensive.
