Abstract : The variability of depth perception under conditions of intermittent illumination was investigated. Ten male subjects were tested for depth perception using a Dolman type perception apparatus. The variables considered in this study are the distance from subject to apparatus, the frequency of the intermittent light, the source of the intermittent light, the replication of subjects, and both monocular and binocular depth perception. The results were analyzed through an analysis of variance. The analysis was a 4 x 5 x 2 x 2 full factorial analysis with ten replications per cell. Significance was found at the five percent level for the source of the intermittent illumination. The results were furthur represented graphically by a family of curves. (Author)
