Abstract : The report includes summaries to date of several investigations. The first two sections summarize investigations into the preparation and characterization of perovskite oxides containing mixed transition metal ions. The third section treats continued efforts in characterizing the CrO4(3-) ion as it is found in complex phosphates. The fourth section describes the results of investigations into the influence of structure on the magnetic behavior of transition metal fluorides. In the fifth section a description is given of the advances made in the design of a more efficient facility for recording Mossbauer spectra over the temperature range 4.2K to 300K, and in the final section are presented the results of recently initiated studies which represent extensions of previous work performed under this grant.
