Abstract : The report constitutes the documentation for a large scale antiair warfare computer simulation model designated the NWRC/AAWG-71. The model is, to the greatest extent practicable, machine and installaton independent. It has the capability of handling up to 31 defense units (ships and AEW aircraft) and up to 255 offense units (launch vehicles, stand-off jammers, cruise missiles, etc.). There are numerous potential applications of the model. Task force runs may be made to establish the relative effectiveness of the defense when changes are introduced in ship configurations (alternate radars or weapon systems) or in ship dispositions. Similarly, the effects of changes in enemy attack tactics (raid size, weapon types, flight profiles, jamming levels, or target selection) may be assessed. (Author)
