Abstract : On the basis of zincborophosphate glasses with the observance of specific melting conditions it is possible to synthesize opaque and transparent glasses with an increased content of halogens up to 22 wt. percent NaCl, 24 wt. percent NaBr, and 17 wt percent NaJ. It is characteristic that in the four-component systems given at small quantities the ions of halogens and alkali metals yield opaque glasses, but with a further increase in the content of the ions of a halogen or alkali metals transparent glasses are formed. The increased content of ions of halogens also influences the temperature of softening, electroconductivity, thermal-expansion coefficient and others. (Author)
