Abstract : Ethyl alcohol was given to 14 human subjects in a manner designed to provide a pair of elimination rate data at each of two doses. At the same dose the rate varied by 17% between trials; increasing the dose from 0.75 ml/kg to 1.5 (or 1.7) ml/kg caused the elimination rate to increase by 47%; and using the extreme high and low rates for each individual the mean rate increase was 67%. The elimination rate was positively related to dose or the highest blood concentration of alcohol. (Author)
