Abstract : It is shown explicity that the frequencies of small k, infinitefilm spin waves follows guide curves, which are simply the dispersion relations for pure magnetostatic modes (exchange constant D = O) with the internal field (H sub i replaced by (H sub i) + D(k squared). A previous result, that the magnetostatic-mode (D(k squared negligible) frequencies are independent of the pinning, apart from splitting at corssovers of the guide curves, is a special case of the general result. Two regions of linearity of omega as a function of the magnitude (k sub f) of the wave vector in the plane of the film exist, but have no practical consequences at present. (Author)
