Abstract : It is shown that the oxidation of methyl cyclohexanecarboxylate was done at 130C without catalyst. The activation energy of the thermal decomposition of I hydroperoxide in a medium of oxidized I depended on the presence of the oxidation products. Methyl, alpha-hydroperoxy cyclohexanecarboxylate, the primary decomposition product of tertiary I hydroperoxide, was thermally stable. Its conversion during oxidation depended on the reaction with hydroperoxide in the presence of the acids formed. (Author)
