Abstract : It is shown that the adhesion of wood mass to the metal, as well as stabilization of the former's dimensions is ensured by impregnating the wood with molten metal at a pressure of 50 to 80 atmospheres in 1 to 2 min. The process can be carried out with metals melting at below 240C, and the molten metal fuses with the tinned metal surface. The thermal conductivity of impregnated wood increases 35 to 40 times, and its maximum oil absorption is 2 to 4 percent. (Author)
