Abstract : Electric cells, fuel cells and heat engines are compared. The most common fuel cell using H2 and O2 is described in detail. Variations such as plastic-based electrodes, ion-exchange membranes, quasi-solid electroyltes, and high temperature cells are discussed. (Author)
