Abstract : The method of heating treating a friction pair of steel Kh12F1 and bronze Br OSN 10-2-3 consists of hardening, tempering, polishing, and final tempering for the steel. It is distinguished by the fact that in order to improve wear resistance and reliability the steel is subjected to two-to three-time tempering at 500-520 degrees C and final tempering at 480-500 degrees C and bronze to homogenization at 750 degrees C and aging at 480-500 degrees C.
