Abstract : A link of two components (simple closed curves in (S sup 3)) is a boundary link if the components bound disjoint orientable surfaces in (S sup 3). A link is irreducible if the only toroidal surfaces which separate the components are boundaries of regular neighborhoods of the components. In this paper, the author constructs a family of irreducible boundary links with unknotted components. (Author)
