Abstract : Electrical conductivity measurements on high purity polycrystalline specimens of TiO2 indicate that the influence of impurities on the defect structure is not as great as in less pure single crystals. Thermoluminescent data obtained on polycrystalline ZnO are presented and interpreted in terms of a copper impurity - zinc vacancy defect complex.
