Abstract : The study of various physical (mechanical and electrical) properties of vein-quartz from pegmatitic and hydrothermal deposits, containing nonferrous and rare metals, has been undertaken in order to explain differences in the conditions of its formation. In particular, it is supposed that the temperatures and pressures, under which quartz of different genesis was crystallized, differ greatly. The basic goal of the investigation was to detect and evaluate subtle differences in the structure and physical properties of quartz of different genesis and, likewise, to explain the differences in grain-orientation for granular aggregates of these quartz varieties.
