Abstract : Very briefly described is research in which the dynamics of phase transition phenomena were investigated by means of laser light scattering spectroscopy. Raman, Brillouin and light-beating techniques were used in exploring the following phenomena: The liquid-vapor critical point in carbon dioxide; The ferroelectric transition in triglycine sulfate (TGS); The alpha-beta structural transition in quartz; The ferroelectric transition in potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) and potassium dideuterium phosphate (KD*P); The order-disorder transition in amonium chloride at high pressure.
