Abstract : The adsorption-complex formation chromatographic method consists of first securing an adsorbent-complex forming agent capable of reacting with one or several substances of the mixture undergoing chromatography to a carrier-sorbent. To resolve the question of the action mechanism of adsorption-complex formation columns, the sorption isotherms were plotted for complex forming agent on the carrier-sorbent and of a metal on the modified sorbent. Sorption isotherms of nickel from a solution of nickel chloride on charcoal diethyldithiocarbamate on charcoal, nickel on charcoal modified with DDC, oxyquinoline and N-benzoyl-N-phenylhydroxylamine (BPHA) and tantalum on charcoal modified with phenylarsonic acid (PAA) and with tannin were recorded.
