Abstract : Four experiments concerned with human information processing are reported. The first investigates visual search performance as a function of the number of elements in a display. The second examines the possibility that judgments of sameness and difference are mediated differently by the left and right visual hemifields. The third indicates that successive stages in information processing may not be independent. The fourth suggests that performance in the 'missing-scan' paradigm is not mediated by an ordinal strategy. (Author)
