Abstract : The compression bonding of wood veneers and layers of cotton fabric with SBS-1 resin gave laminated components for use as submerged bearings in ship construction. The filling of SBS-1 with 10% graphite or 5% MOS2 decreased the friction coefficient of the components. These components have lighter impact strength and lower swelling in water than other wood resin laminates. (Author)
