Abstract : A method has been developed for filling wood with various polymer materials. They are introduced in the form of solutions and suspensions, which permits obtaining moisture-resistant and shape-stable material. Introduction of the phenol- formaldehyde resin type filler has no significant influence on the antifriction properties of pressed wood. The filling of wood with phenol-formaldehyde resin decreases its water absorption and increases its dimensional stability. (P.S.-PL)
