Abstract : A new phase method for measuring the thermal conductivity (alpha) at high temperatures was proposed, which eliminates errors owing to the thermal radiation. A thin walled metalic tube is periodically heated and the resulting changes in pressure of a gas in the tube are registered. The differential equation was solved and the dependences of the amplitude of the pressure and the phase shift between the temperature of the tube wall and the pressure were calculated. (Author)
