Abstract : Three different expressions for computing stress-strain curves of rubber in tension, based on different assumptions regarding segmental alignment in the force field, are discussed, and computer programs for their use are presented. The curves are compared with an experimental one obtained from unfilled, dicumyl peroxide-cured natural rubber, and differences are discussed in terms of N, the number of chains per c.c., and n, the number of monomer units per chain.
