Abstract : A software three-layer ocean with adjustable temperature and depth inputs for each layer is the medium for the simulated propagation of sound. Simulated major modes of acoustic propagation such as surface duct, convergence zones, etc. and acoustic propagation outside the major modes is described as a function of this controlled medium. Simulation of ambient noise is also described as a function of the surface conditions and input controls. (Author)
