Into the void space molten metal is introduced and removed. The amount of introduced metal per time unit is always greater than the amount of removed metals, the introduction and removal of molten metal being continued until the contact surface of the article and the molten metal has attained a temperature sufficient to effect diffusion of the material to be joined together.
