Abstract : Equations for determining the total specific compacting pressure (P) and for describing the dependence of the pressing ratio on the true compacting pressure are cited. The obtained dependence of P on the specimens height to diameter ratio makes it possible to assess the effect of geometric parameters on friction. A formula is proposed for determining the friction modulus which represents external friction. The value of the latter depends on the powder material, type of lubricant and other conditions affecting friction. (Author)
