Abstract : The perturbed motion equations of a rotor in radial thrust bearings are discussed together with Reynolds equations describing pressures in the lubricant layer. The system of feeding apertures is diagrammed using the pressurization lines. It is assumed that the rate of perturbed motion of the journal are low in comparison to the longitudinal flow rates in the lubrication layer. The equilibrium stability conditions are defined in a linear approximation. Basic equations are derived which are applicable for two-journal bearings with pressurization apertures located along circular lines in the side surfaces of the supports. (Author)
