Abstract : A computer analysis shows how 250-mile and 500-mile uhf free-space coverage contours are modified by reflections from smooth seawater for various ship antenna heights. The results are plotted for ship antenna heights between 50 and 200 feet above the waterline at 10-foot intervals. Frequencies considered are 225, 250, 275, and 300 MHz, which adequately represent the band normally used for ship-to-air naval communications. (Author)
