Abstract : The pressure at which lubricants are supplied affects all operational indices of a slider type bearing, the minimum thickness of the lubricating layer, the friction moment and the amount of lubricant that passes over the bearing. The degree of influence exerted by the pressure at which lubricants are supplied is different for bearings with varying structural characteristics. The size of the relative gap has an important effect on all operational indexes of the bearings. The lowest temperature of the lubricating layer is observed when the relative gap is within the limits of 0.005-0.009. The minimum thickness of the lubricating layer changes within the limits of 0.003-0.007. (Author)
