Abstract : The HFP toxicity was studied in acute, repeated and chronic tests. Maximal parameters of the toxicity, and threshold concentrations in single and chronic poisonings were determined. Clinical symptoms of acute poisoning are described and findings of anatomopathological and pathohistological investigations in animals killed by HFP poisoning are presented. Rats subject to chronic poisoning with HFP demonstrated changed serum alkaline phosphatase and cholinesterase activities and guinea pigs showed an increased F content in the bone. The effect of HFP on the activity of the hypophysis adrenals system was analyzed in repeated and chronic poisonings. The maximum permissable concentration (MPC) of HFP approved by the commission for fixing MPC of noxious substances in the air surrounding work places is 5 mg per cu m. (Author)
