Abstract : Two types of zironcium hydride precipitate in zirconium have been distinguished by electron microscope techniques. In thin zirconium foils the larger precipitates, observed, which are resolvable by optical microscopy, have been identified with a (10(-1)O) habit plane. The more numerous small hydride precipitates which also form are shown to occur principally on the surface of thin zirconium foils and can be identified with an (0002) habit plane. (Author)
