Abstract : Uniaxial tensile tests on titanium indicated that (a) twinning is important in the low temperature deformation kinetics of Ti-50A; (b) the deformation kinetics of Ti-6Al-4V at low temperatures are governed principally by the interstitial solute content. Both single and double maximum type flow patterns were observed for the extrusion of Ti-5Al-2.5Sn. The temperature and stress fields existing during the hot extrusion of Ti-6Al-4V were calculated.
