Abstract : The paper presents an approach to a problem in the scheduling of events in a time dependent context. The problem framework is a radar network wherein there are critical time thresholds for tracking satellites and for setting up and performing observations on board the satellites. The objective in the scheduling is to maximize the sum of the values associated with the experiments selected and performed. More specifically, the goal is to rapidly obtain good, near optimal solutions which satisfy the operating conditions of the environment. A procedure is outlined for testing sensitivity to weights on the relative value of various experiments. Computational results from implementation are given. (Author)
