Abstract : Comparisons were made of different physicochemical properties of commercial motor oils containing additives of different compositions under laboratory conditions to evaluate the qualitative features of oils with additives. The ability of the oils to form sediments and the dynamics of changes in alkalinity and kinematic viscosity were established. At the same time, the thermal stability of additives was determined with respect to their components. In this case the chemical and physical activity of the entire mixture was used as the criterion of stability.
