Abstract : Experimental investigations are described which showed that dry friction very substantially affects the vibration of building constructions, changing not only the amplitudes of oscillations, but also resonance frequencies; experimental data are given on the forces of dry friction of concrete on concrete and concrete on steel which are necessary to dynamically design industrial buildings and constructions; a method is presented for the calculation of forced nonlinear vibrations where dry friction is taken into account and the calculations of numbers of constructions are given; the results of the studies are compared with experimental data; practical recommendations for the calculations are given; the possibility is shown of broadening the range of utilization of precast reinforced concrete for structures subjected to vibratory loads.
